Random Site Finder

Privacy policy

Last updated 4 November 2026

The short version: no accounts, no analytics, and our own code sets no cookies. The ads that support the site are served by Google, which does use cookies. The details, and how to opt out, are below.

Who we are

Random Site Finder ("we", "us") is the website at randomsitefinder.com. You can reach us at hello@randomsitefinder.com.

What happens when you use the site

Requests to our server

Like every website, our server receives each request your browser makes, including your IP address and the type of browser you use. The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes this information to deliver the site and protect it from abuse (see Cloudflare's privacy policy). Our own log entries record which address was requested, the response, how long it took and which site the button picked; they do not include your IP address. Cloudflare's platform logs for the site can contain technical details of requests and are deleted automatically after a few days. We don't use any of this to identify anyone.

"Where you've been"

The last ten doors you opened are saved in your browser's local storage so the page can list them and avoid repeats. That list stays on your device. When you press the button, the identifiers of those doors are sent along so the server can skip them; it uses them for that one pick and doesn't keep them. To clear the list, clear this site's data in your browser.

Reporting a broken door

If you press "broken?", your browser sends us the identifier of that site. To stop report spam (at most five reports per ten minutes), your IP address is kept briefly in the server's memory. It is never written to our logs or stored anywhere else. We log only which site was reported and when.

Cookies

Our own code sets no cookies. The cookies Google uses for advertising are described next.

Advertising

Ads on this site are served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message managed by Google asks for your choice before ads use cookies or personal data, and you can change that choice at any time. Where US state privacy laws give you the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising, you can do so with the same tools or by emailing us.

Ads never decide which site the button opens.

The sites behind the doors

The button takes you to websites we don't run. Once you are there, that site's own privacy policy applies. We open them with no referrer, so they aren't told you came from here.

Children

Random Site Finder is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

We don't keep information that identifies you, so there is normally nothing for us to show you, correct or delete. If you have a question or a request, email us and we will answer. For data held by Google, use Google's tools linked above. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
